1000 Years War

Due to lack of activity, and due to extreme lack of involvement of the Head Administrator, Master Chief, we have decided to close down portions of the site. Staff has decided to close down all boards to posting access, except for the Multiplayer, General, Graphics, and the Support boards. All the staff of the site regret in doing this, but we feel it is the best solution for everybody. You may still post freely, but within accessible rules, in the Multiplayer board. Thank you to those who helped the site grow along the way, we all appreciate it a lot! Thank you everybody for your time, and have a nice day.

Dear members of 1000yearswar forum. This is a great rp site which has had its ups and downs over the years. However at this moment in time, staff members such as myself, and CarnageX are too busy with other (real life) actvities. Our proposal is, to semi-close the forum. We are both agreed that too much time and effort has been put into 1000yearswar to completely shut it down, therefore new members will not have to be accepted to roleplay, and staff members will rarely be online.

We would enforce new moderators and admins however CarnageX does not have sufficient access to the admin sections due to Master Chiefs dissapearence over the years. Because of this, the site will become a free forum, where older members should use their time and experience at 1000 to guide new members into the roleplay boards. This would be greatly appreciated from the 1000yearsstaff. It has been a great experience here, may yours guns stay loaded!

Edit: it has also been decided that specific boards will be closed to keep a tighter leash on spamming etc. Please wait for update which will be posted in the General headers shortly. Thank you.

Well everybody, here is our (the staff's) side of the story on why we did this. It's more than just us being too busy in real life activities. The primary reason we are deciding to close is because the head admin Master Chief had decided not to properly hand down his position to me when he decided to leave. Unfortunately I did not save the conversations, to which to this day I still regret, of him deciding to leave.

He and I had talked on AIM about it, because of his long absences from the site. He had finally decided that he was too busy for the site, and would leave it up to us to let it stay afloat or do whatever we want with it. I asked him for the password to the main account, but he refused to give it to me, and stated that he would "be around if we needed anything changed." I told him it would be simpler and quicker to just change his password to something generic, and give it to me so I could change it to whatever I wanted. Again he refused. He told me he gave me all the powers I needed to run the site, but I still saw things were missing, especially things such as user group powers to adjust people's rankings. He however stated he did indeed give me these powers. I let it slide for now thinking that I would be able to later contact him if I needed anything.

Needless to say, he did not reply to any of my e-mails, and I never saw him online on AIM again. All of the staff struggled through to get to where we are now, and do what we needed to do to keep the site functioning, even with me as a gimped admin, so to speak. We have done all we can to keep the site going, but due to Master Chief giving me a limited amount as to what I can do, we can no longer go on to function properly.

I would again like to thank everybody for the time they put into the place, especially the long-standing members who kept trying to keep the place going.
