1000 Years War

Due to lack of activity, and due to extreme lack of involvement of the Head Administrator, Master Chief, we have decided to close down portions of the site. Staff has decided to close down all boards to posting access, except for the Multiplayer, General, Graphics, and the Support boards. All the staff of the site regret in doing this, but we feel it is the best solution for everybody. You may still post freely, but within accessible rules, in the Multiplayer board. Thank you to those who helped the site grow along the way, we all appreciate it a lot! Thank you everybody for your time, and have a nice day.

Graphics-Making Programs Please

I've noticed many of the support banners and signatures other members have (like Shock's, for example), and I need to know how they did it. Was it a program? I have to rely on Google image and a cruddy paint program. I've tried making things by hand, but I've failed miserably. So all I ask is for some help and some recommended programs, if it was a program used to make these fancy images.

Shock uses GIMP, I believe. I use PhotoShop CS2, and Fireangel uses PaintShop Pro. There's also Paint.net, a program similar to GIMP. GIMP/Paint.net are both freeware, while PS/PSP are retail programs (we can't discuss how Fire and I acquired our programs, as its against the rules

Thanks for the information. I'll try to get at least one of the programs and make a better avatar for myself, rather than a simple elite taken from google image.

EDIT: Alright, I have GIMP, but it seems complicated and I was stupid enough to skip straight to the drawing part. It'll take a bit for me to teach myself how to use it.

Just google for tutorials. That's what Shock did, and he's gotten quite damn good w/ GIMP.

Well, I took my current avatar, pasted it onto a layer and went crazy with the shining and shading tool. The zealot looks very bloodthirsty with his shimmering armor. I can't upload it though because photobucket keeps freezing up on me.

I knew that there were more sites like photobucket out there, I'm just not as familiar with all of them (I didn't know their names/how to get to them/etc...) so I was stuck with photobucket. And besides, it's more of "opening a file" that freezes up the computer. If I click "save" after drawing something of paint, it freezes. If I click "cancel" after clicking "open file" it freezes. So I'm very limited.
